Approach

My approach is simple: Be prepared. Review all provided materials. Remain objective throughout the review process and the mediation session, itself. No judgement or preconceived notions. Maintain an open mind with a natural curiosity. Focused listening and observation of the parties during the mediation session. Develop questions as necessary to fully flesh out positions, needs, wants and directions of all parties. Are the parties in a position to resolve the matter?  Is there something missing?  Can the missing components be identified, developed, examined, understood and incorporated? Remain flexible, open and adaptable as new or different information is presented or developed. Remain mindful of the end game. Can a resolution be reached, can gaps be identified and closed. Remain respectful of all parties.
