About Tim Dowling
I founded Resolvium Mediation Group with one clear goal: to change the way families experience divorce. After years working in law, dispute resolution, and complex negotiations, I saw how expensive, adversarial, and emotionally taxing the traditional legal process had become. I believed there was a better way to help people resolve conflict, and I built Resolvium and our 5-Day Divorce to prove it.
My professional background spans legal operations, financial services, banking, mortgage, and executive leadership. That experience has given me a practical understanding of conflict, negotiation, risk management, and the realities families face when navigating divorce and other disputes. It also reinforced my belief that resolution should be efficient, structured, and centered on the needs of the people involved.
My education includes legal studies at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, mediation and dispute resolution training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, Divorce Mediation training through Northwestern University, a Master of Science from Syracuse University, and bachelor's degrees in Finance from the University of Illinois and Marketing.
As a mediator, my approach is practical, impartial, and solution focused. I help parties move beyond positions, evaluate realistic options, and reach informed agreements that reduce conflict and create lasting solutions. Every mediation is guided by the principles of neutrality, respect, and self determination.
Today, Resolvium Mediation Group provides structured mediation services for families, businesses, and civil disputes while also supporting a growing network of professional mediators across the country. Our mission is simple: help people resolve conflict with dignity, preserve relationships whenever possible, and create a better path forward without unnecessary litigation.

I am the Founder and CEO of Resolvium Mediation Group and a Pepperdine Law School trained mediator focused exclusively on alternative dispute resolution. My practice centers on helping individuals, families, and businesses resolve disputes efficiently, privately, and without the uncertainty of litigation.

I have successfully mediated hundreds of matters involving divorce, parenting plans, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, post-decree modifications, business disputes, commercial conflicts, workplace matters, and civil litigation. My approach is facilitative and solution-oriented, emphasizing informed decision-making, effective communication, and practical agreements that are built to last.

I regularly work with self-represented parties, attorneys, financial professionals, and mental health providers to facilitate negotiated resolutions in both court-referred and private matters. My mediation philosophy is grounded in neutrality, preparation, and helping parties maintain control over outcomes while reducing emotional and financial costs.
As the founder of one of Illinois' growing private mediation organizations, I have also developed mediation systems, case management protocols, mediator training programs, and standardized settlement processes designed to improve the client experience while maintaining the highest ethical standards of the profession.
Approach

I believe the best resolutions are created by the parties, not imposed by a judge. My role is to provide a structured, neutral process where each person has the opportunity to be heard, evaluate options, and make informed decisions.
I approach every mediation with preparation, patience, and practicality. I encourage respectful communication, reality testing, and creative problem solving while maintaining neutrality at every stage of the process. My goal is to help parties reduce conflict, preserve important relationships when possible, and reach durable agreements that reflect their priorities rather than the uncertainty of litigation.
